Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:

  • Apply mathematical methods and analytical skills, and engineering methods and tools, to basic engineering design problems and derive solutions;
  • Produce digital and analogue circuits and software according to system specifications and standards;
  • Examine important ethical, socio-political, cultural and/or economic issues, affecting engineering in the local, national, regional and international contexts;
  • Relate major ideas in arts and humanities, science and technology to engineering;
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using English and Chinese.

Career Prospects

Graduates from this programme may be employed as technical support personnel in computer manufacturing, electronics design and servicing, electrical appliance development and maintenance, software development, internet services, product design, and sales and marketing of technical products. After joining a company, graduates may undergo on-the-job training to qualify as technicians or technologists.
